Who We Are

PSNA is a local unit of the Ohio Nurses Association which represents the staff nurses at Akron General Medical Center (Akron, Ohio) for collective bargaining. The purpose of the PSNA is to strengthen and assist registered nurses and to establish and implement an effective labor agenda that supports and advances economic and general welfare, workplace conditions and practice of staff nursing through collective bargaining and shared governance.

Elections 2012

Elections will be held February 27th, from 6:30am to 8:00pm in the Cook classroom on the 2nd floor.

New/Current board members are to be voted on as well as the Bylaws.

Bylaws are outlined below for those that would like to read them before election day.

What We Do
  • Bargain with Akron General Medical Center for advances in the economic and general welfare, workplace conditions, and practice of registered nurses.
  • Represent registered nurses in discipline and grievance meetings.
  • Provide an attorney, as needed (through the ONA), to represent a nurse(s) with a discipline/grievance issue.
  • Protect registered nurses interests through participation on various committees ( Practice Council, Staffing Advisory, JOC, and various others)
  • Strengthen the practice of nursing at Akron General Medical Center by providing it's registered nurses a strong voice to advocate for their patients and workplace.
