The PSNA is looking for a med/surg nurse to represent the floors at the Staffing Advisory committee meetings.  Staffing Advisory is a committee consisting of administration and the PSNA/ONA membership that develop, investigate and improve the care of our patients, staffing issues and workload issues. There is also a review, discussion, and tracking patterns and trends involving Assignment Despite objections (ADO) forms.  The committee meets once a month and you will be paid your regular hourly wage for attending the meetings.  Please contact Mark Whitehurst or Ann Kaser if you are interested.

Congratulations to Kelly Trautner who is now over the entire Labor Relations dept. at the ONA.  She will no longer be our PSNA Labor Relations Specialist.  Our new attorney is Anne Steward.  If you should need to contact her at the ONA office here is her email address: .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)    We look forward to working with Anne and wish Kelly much success in her new position at the ONA office.

CONTRACT IDEAS?

The contract is up in June 2011.  The negotiating team is gearing up to formulate a strategy for our next contract.  We will be sending out a survey in the fall for the memberships'  ideas and list of priorities for negotiating with AGMC.  The PSNA is YOUR bargaining unit and we encourage your suggestions and comments.  We welcome your constructive input and we also need to be realistic with our expectations with the current economy in Akron, Ohio.  Thank you for taking the time to give us your input.
